Discount Management

Discount Management lets you create promo codes and control when they apply during the LimoSuite booking flow.

You can use discounts for seasonal promotions, first-time customer offers, weekend specials, long hourly rides, corporate codes, or limited-time campaigns.

How Discounts Work

Each discount rule has:

Code
Type
Amount
Condition
Dates
Usage Limits

Empty promo codes are ignored when settings are saved.

Code

The Code is the promo code the customer enters during checkout.

Codes are saved uppercase.

Example:

SUMMER15
WELCOME10
WEEKEND10
ACME30

Use short, clear codes that are easy for customers to type.

Good examples:

SUMMER15
WELCOME10
NY20
AIRPORT25

Avoid confusing codes:

Type

The Type controls how the discount is calculated.

Common types:

Fixed
Percent

Other types may be available for custom logic:

Volume
Time
First Time

Only use custom types if your LimoSuite pricing logic supports them.

Fixed Discount

A fixed discount subtracts a flat dollar amount.

Example:

Code: LONGRIDE25
Type: Fixed
Amount: 25

Effect:

Takes $25 off the booking total.

Percent Discount

A percent discount subtracts a percentage from the booking total.

Example:

Code: WEEKEND10
Type: Percent
Amount: 10

Effect:

Takes 10% off the booking total.

Amount

The Amount field accepts a numeric value.

Do not enter a dollar sign or percent sign.

Correct:

For fixed discounts:

25 = $25 off

For percent discounts:

10 = 10% off

Condition

Conditions control when the discount can be used.

Available condition options include:

Minimum hours
Weekend only
First-time customer only

Conditions are optional.

You can use one condition or combine multiple conditions.

Minimum Hours

Use Minimum Hours when a promo code should only apply to hourly rides of a certain length.

Example:

Code: LONGRIDE25
Type: Fixed
Amount: 25
Minimum Hours: 6

Effect:

Customer gets $25 off only when duration is 6 hours or more.

Weekend Only

Use Weekend when a promo code should only apply to weekend trips.

Example:

Code: WEEKEND10
Type: Percent
Amount: 10
Weekend: Enabled

Effect:

Customer gets 10% off on weekend bookings only.

First-Time Customer Only

Use First-time when a promo code should only apply to a customer’s first booking.

Example:

Per User Limit: 1

Effect:

Customer gets 10% off their first booking only.

Dates

Dates control when the discount is active.

You can set:

Start Date
End Date

Leave dates blank if the discount should have no time limit.

Effect:

Customer gets 15% off only during the summer date window.

One-Day Discount Example

Code: BF40
Type: Fixed
Amount: 40

Effect:

Customer gets $40 off once on that day.

Usage Limits

Usage limits control how many times a promo code can be used.

Available limits:

Total Limit
Per User Limit

Use:

0

for unlimited.

Total Limit

Total Limit controls the total number of redemptions across all customers.

Example:

Code: NY20
Total Limit: 200

Effect:

The promo code can be used 200 total times.

Per User Limit

Per User Limit controls how many times each customer can use the promo code.

Example:

Code: ACME30
Per User Limit: 2

Effect:

Each customer can use the code up to 2 times.

Usage Examples

Long Ride Discount

Use this for hourly bookings with a minimum duration.

Recommended setup:

Code: LONGRIDE25
Type: Fixed
Amount: 25
Condition: Min hrs = 6
Dates: —
Limits: Total 0 / Per user 0

Effect:

$25 off when duration is 6 hours or more.

Weekend Discount

Use this for weekend-only promotions.

Recommended setup:

Effect:

10% off weekends only.

First-Time Customer Discount

Use this for new customer promotions.

Effect:

10% off the customer’s first booking.

Seasonal Discount

Use this for summer, holiday, or seasonal campaigns.

Effect:

15% off during the selected date window.

Black Friday Discount

Use this for a one-day campaign.

Effect:

$40 off once on that day.

Weekend Hourly Discount

Use this when a promo should require both a weekend booking and a minimum number of hours.

Condition: Weekend enabled + Min hrs = 5

Limits: Total 0 / Per user 0

Effect:

12% off when the booking is on a weekend and duration is 5 hours or more.

Corporate Discount

Use this for company or partner promo codes.

Recommended setup:

Type: Fixed
Amount: 30

Effect:

$30 off, each customer can use the code up to 2 times.

Limited Quantity Discount

Use this when you want a campaign to stop after a set number of uses.

Recommended setup:

Limits: Total 200 / Per user 1

Effect:

20% off until the code reaches 200 total uses.

First-Time Hourly Discount

Use this when you want to reward first-time customers booking longer rides.

Recommended setup:

Type: Fixed
Amount: 15
Condition: Min hrs = 3 + First-time enabled
Dates: —
Limits: Per user 1

Effect:

$15 off for new customers booking 3 hours or more.

Stacking Discounts

If customers enter multiple discount codes, the result depends on your LimoSuite app logic.

Example:

WEEKEND10 + FALL5

Possible logic options:

Allow stacking
Block stacking
Use best value only
Use first valid code only

For most booking businesses, the safest option is:

One active code per booking

or:

Best value wins

This prevents customers from combining too many discounts.

Best Practices

Avoid unclear codes:

Set per-user limits for high-value discounts.

Example:

Per User Limit: 1

Use date windows for seasonal codes.

Use total limits for public campaigns.

Recommended Starting Discounts

For a limo or black car company, common starting promo codes are:

Start with a few simple discounts. Avoid creating too many overlapping codes at once.

Testing Discounts

After creating or editing a discount:

  1. Save the Discount Management settings.
  2. Open the booking form.
  3. Build a trip that should qualify for the discount.
  4. Enter the promo code.
  5. Confirm the discount appears.
  6. Check that the final price is correct.
  7. Test a trip that should not qualify.
  8. Confirm the discount does not apply.

Always test both matching and non-matching scenarios.

Troubleshooting

Promo code does not work

Check that:

The code is saved
The code is typed correctly
The code has not expired
The date window matches today/trip date
The condition matches the booking
The usage limit has not been reached

Discount amount is wrong

Check that:

Fixed vs Percent is selected correctly
Amount does not include $ or %
The booking subtotal is correct
Other fees or discounts are not changing the final amount

Weekend discount does not apply

Check that:

Weekend condition is enabled
The trip date falls on a weekend
The booking date/time logic uses the correct timezone

Minimum hours discount does not apply

Check that:

Minimum hours is entered
The booking duration meets or exceeds the minimum
The trip type supports hourly duration logic

First-time discount does not apply

Check that:

First-time condition is enabled
The customer is truly new
The per-user limit has not already been used
The customer email/account matching logic is working

Date-limited discount does not apply

Check that:

Start date and end date are correct
The current/trip date is inside the range
The date format is valid
The site timezone is correct

Usage limit does not work

Check that:

Total limit is set correctly
Per-user limit is set correctly
0 means unlimited
Customer usage tracking is enabled in your booking logic
